Forgot to mention on the new events for SDP.

Iron Bartender is a competition similar to Iron Chef, but with obvious differences. A mystery ingredient is presented to contestants. They then create a drink that must use a specified amount of the ingredient along with other available bar supplies. A judge declares the winner and gets to drink (or assign) the winning drink. The loser must drink his own creation. It really is good times, and it's very suprising how good of a drink can be made with a dollup of sour cream.

Seeing as how the number of drink varieties that can be made is a direct result of the number of drink-related ingredients available, I think it would be best to have a large amount of ingredients for IB. So, I was thinking it might be nice if SDP attendees could each bring one or more drink ingredients/accessories, alcoholic or not. I'll cover some of the basics by providing:
  • Vodka
  • Rum
  • Tequila
  • Coke/Sprite/etc.
  • TSE
  • Milk
  • Fruit garnishes
  • Whatever random bottles of liquid I have around (not very many)
  • Some secret ingredients
I have plenty of glassware and shakers and whatnot, but we'll need a plethora of ingredients to make IB a success. If you are coming, can you bring somehting? If so, leave a comment with your intended contribution so we can avoid doubling up!

not really, they don't have those in my neck of the woods.

How about some liver sausage?

Oh, I know, I'll bring a bottle of homemade blackberry wine.

And maybe a stroh's.

I am going to bring a plethora of "mystery" ingredients. Will look for more this weekend.

Also will plan to bring some drink mixes.

I'll be bringing back those bottle-pouring hootchie thingies that were leftover from chillfest.
